about us |
Southern Star Western Performance Club (SSWPC) first began back in 2006 and was originally based in Aldinga. In 2014 we relocated to Kirkcaldy Park in the Adelaide hills and we haven't looked back since. We invite you to come along for a visit to see just what it is that the club provides, look for one of our friendly committee people and say hello!
We are affiliated with the Australian Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) and the Western Dressage Association of Australia and we are fully insured through the AQHA. As a club we aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment for riders to learn about the western style of riding and the different events that form part of this. We spend our club days learning about the many events that are held at Western shows, such as Trail, various pattern classes, halter classes and much more. |
We provide a friendly atmosphere where people of all levels and abilities are encouraged to come along and join in. We offer training days, competitions and clinics throughout the year, we also welcome spectators along to any of our club days.
We usually enjoy sharing our lunch break under the shade of the lovely trees at Kirkcaldy Park. |
Facilities
As a club we are fortunate to have access to great facilities at Kirkcaldy Park, including ample parking, day yards, an outdoor arena and an indoor arena. Club days are usually held in the large outdoor arena, which is perfect for large groups and has plenty of surrounding shade for spectators on warm sunny days. On rainy days we use the full sized indoor dressage arena, which still provides enough room for group activities.
