The Ranch Horse
The Ranch horse events include a variety of different events, however, as a club we focus on the Ranch Conformation, Riding and Trail as we feel that this is something that is suitable for all our members.
RANCH CONFORMATION
Presenting a natural horse with form for function |
|
Horses will walk to the judge one at a time, stop, and setup. The judge will look at your horse from many angles. Bear in mind that setting up and presenting your horse properly can add a great deal of appeal. Know your horses assets and liabilities and work with them the best you can. You will then trot off to a cone, turn left and continue trotting toward the wall or fence of the arena.
Unlike show halter classes that are run at the start of the day, the ranch conformation class is held at the end of the day. Some marks from a days riding is all part of the class is all part of the presentation. The horses ears must contain hair, no make-up on the faces or socks and feet. No false tails. The halter is a working halter. Long flowing manes enhance the look for the ranch horse.
